A versatile cheese for any occasion

Capela's cottage cheese is a traditional dairy product with a long history in the region, transmitted by local farmers throughout generations.

Prepared by the Capela Campo Producers Cooperative, Composed of 33 small milk producers, the cottage cheese is distinguished by its artisanal production, without preservatives, using raw cow's milk and lactic coagulation, without serum. His natural and additive process makes it an easy digestion cheese, with benefits for defenses and a better assimilation of lactose, since it does not contain salt.

This cheese of great versatility is enjoyed so much only and accompanied, being traditionally served with sugar, honey or jam at breakfasts or on toast. In salty kitchen, it complements perfectly smoked fish, salads, sauces, pasta fillings and meats. It is common to taste it with red wine and sugar or roasted wine of the Ribeiro, and in modern cuisine it is incorporated into recipes with toasted brandy, highlighting for its ability to facilitate digestion, making it an ideal choice for dessert.

Since 1989, every last Sunday of August, Capela celebrates the Clock party , a gastronomic event of great tradition in the region where thousands of cheese rations are distributed and various cultural and festive activities are carried out.

Craft Recet Cake Cake

Ingredients
  • 400 g ricotta cheese
  • 250 g Greek yogurt
  • 150 g sugar
  • 50 g flour
  • 3 large eggs
1. Mix the base ingredients

In a bowl, mix the cottage cheese, the Greek yogurt and the sugar until obtaining a homogeneous mixture.

2. Add the eggs

Add the eggs one by one, beating well after each addition to integrate the ingredients.

3. Add the flour

Sample the flour and incorporate it into the mixture, stirring gently until there are no lumps.

4. Rest in the fridge

Let the mixture stand in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to improve the final texture of the cake.

5. Bake

Preheat the oven at 180 ºC and bake the cake for 45-50 minutes, until it is golden and curd.

6. Cool in the oven

Turn off the oven and leave the cake inside so that it cools little by little, avoiding sudden temperature changes.

7. Refrigerate and serve

Take the cake to the fridge until serving. List to enjoy!
