Tradition, nature and mysticism
A trip to the authentic.
Every year, on May 8 and September 29, the roads that lead to the Chapel of San Miguel de Breamo are filled with pilgrims and devotees that keep a centenary tradition alive. The pilgrimage, documented since 1916, is much more than a simple celebration: it is an encounter with the history, culture and popular beliefs of the Eume region. The tour begins in the Rúa Da Fonte Nova, where the participants give three, seven or nine laps in silence to "bounce as Meigas", an ancestral ritual that reinforces the link between the earthly and the spiritual.
Beyond devotion, the pilgrimage of San Miguel de Breamo is an opportunity to connect with nature.
The ascension to the chapel, nestled in a wooded environment, invites you to enjoy the landscape while participating in this unique holiday. During the pilgrimage, the chapel opens its doors, allowing to discover its patrimonial value and its meaning for the local community.
This celebration is one of those experiences that are not only observed, but they feel. It is a time trip, a sample of the identity of the region and an invitation to be part of a legacy that flows with each generation. Whether you visit it for the first time as if you return year after year, each pilgrimage will give you a different, unique and unrepeatable experience.
