Viewpoints that you can't miss
Mirador de Monte Caxado (As Pontes de García Rodríguez)
At 756 meters of altitude, it is the second highest point in the province of A Coruña. From here, in clear days, the Sisargas Islands and part of the Costa da Morte are seen. The Sierra de A Facadoira wraps it with a natural landscape of soft mountains and clean wind. It is a place full of legends, such as the golden yoke hidden among its lands.
Ideal for: Contemplate infinite sunset, take panoramic photos and disconnect from noise.
Mirador of the Caaveiro Monastery (Fragas del Eume)
This natural balcony on the Eume river canyon is one of the most emblematic. It offers an image of the monastery of San Xoán de Caaveiro, surrounded by the intense green of the Fragas. Access can be done on foot by signposted or bus paths from the Visitors Center.
Ideal for: Live the essence of the Atlantic forest and combine hiking with history.
Carbueira Mirador (Monfero)
Located on the town of Ares, this viewpoint offers a privileged view of the mouth of the Eume River and the Ría de Ares. Andrade's castle stands close, adding a medieval touch to the landscape. It is accessible by car and very visited at sunset.
Ideal for: Enjoy views of the estuary and know the historic center of Pontedeume.
Mirador Pico de Vales (Monfero)
Located at 680 meters of altitude, this viewpoint stands on Mount Vales and offers an impressive panoramic view of the Natural Park and the Sierra de Capelada to the bottom. From here a good part of the Fragas forest and the Eume Valley are dominated. A perfect point to connect with the wildest nature.
Ideal for: Quiet hiking, landscape photography and bird observation.
Mirador de Pena Fesa (Monfero)
This viewpoint, located in the Natural Park of the Fragas del Eume, appears to a cliff from which the Fragas and the Eume river are contemplated, winding between the vegetation. It is accessible from marked paths within the park and offers a total immersion experience in the Atlantic forest.
Ideal for: Forest lovers, nature and natural photography.
Mirador de Encoro do Eume (A capela)
Located near the Eume reservoir dam, this viewpoint allows you to contemplate the large water mirror surrounded by mountains and fragras. In spring and summer, the contrast between the blue water and the intense green of the forest is spectacular. Access to foot is a bit more complicated than in other viewpoints, but the views are worth it.
Ideal for: Experienced hikers looking for bucolic landscapes.
