A trip to the roots of the Gallego rural world
To enter the Ethnographic Museum of A Capela is to make a trip in time, where you can explore the essence of the Galician rural world through the objects and spaces that shape the daily life of past generations.
Located in the historic Casa Do Pazo, this old rectory house not only shows the typical architecture of the wealthiest economies, but also houses a vast collection of tillage, sewing, wool, westing utensils and other traditional trades.
More than a museum, this space is a window to the cultural roots of the Eume region, where a story about work and community life is told in each room. Outside, elements such as granary and Alpendre complete the experience, allowing to know closely the structures that supported rural life.
A living memory network
The museum is part of a unique ethnographic network, which includes the Ethnographic Park of Sesín, where the historical relationship between the human being and nature is shown.
In addition, the school museum allows to discover the evolution of teaching in A Capela since the end of the 19th century. Both the Do Pazo and the School function and live classrooms, a reflection of the strong commitment of the community in the preservation and transmission of its identity.
In addition, the museum is integrated into the "beyond the Eidos" route, connecting the heritage with the experience of the visitor through different paths that travel through the history and landscape of the area.
